Gmail’s Gemini AI Q&A Tool Now Available on iOS

A few months back, Google introduced a new way to enhance Gmail searches using its Gemini AI. This innovative feature, known as Gmail Q&A, allows users to locate specific emails and details by asking the Gemini chatbot simple questions. For example, instead of manually searching through your inbox, you can now ask, “What time is our dinner reservation on Saturday?” to instantly retrieve relevant information. Initially exclusive to Android, this feature is now gradually rolling out to iPhone users.

Beyond basic queries, Gemini Q&A can also help you find unread messages from specific contacts by instructing it to “Find unread emails from [contact’s name].” It’s useful for summarizing long-term discussions, like ongoing work projects that span across multiple threads. Plus, it even enables general inbox searches without the need to switch between tabs or apps. To use the Gemini assistant, just tap the star icon located in the top right corner of your Gmail app.

According to Google, the feature may take up to 15 days to reach all users. Keep in mind, though, you’ll need access to Gemini through Business, Enterprise, Education, Education Premium, or Google One AI Premium to activate it.
