Google Introduces Doppl: A New AI App to Virtually Try On Clothes

Google has just unveiled Doppl, a new experimental app that uses AI to show you how different outfits might look on your own body. Now available in the U.S. on both iOS and Android, the app offers a personalized and interactive way to explore your style.

With Doppl, users can virtually try on clothing using a digital version of themselves. To get started, you simply upload a full-body photo. From there, you can use images—whether from social media, a store, or even your camera roll—to see how those outfits would look on you.

Once you choose a piece of clothing, Doppl generates a virtual image of you wearing it. The app can even turn that image into a short, AI-generated video, giving you a more dynamic view of how the outfit fits and moves.

Users can save their favorite looks, revisit past try-ons, and easily share outfits with friends. Google says this standalone app builds on its previous virtual try-on tools in Google Shopping, but offers a more accessible, playful way to experiment with fashion.

Unlike earlier versions of virtual try-on tech—which used models of varying body types—Doppl creates an animated version of your body, making the experience more personal.

“We hope Doppl helps you explore your style in new and exciting ways,” Google shared in a blog post. As part of Google Labs, Doppl is still in its early stages, so accuracy around fit, texture, or appearance may vary.

There’s no word yet on when Doppl might expand to other countries, but for now, U.S. users can download and experiment with the future of AI-driven fashion.
