Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang reportedly blasts managers for discouraging AI use: “Are you insane?” — says employees’ jobs are safe

Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang is doubling down on AI adoption inside the company — and he’s not thrilled with anyone slowing that momentum.

During an all-hands meeting held after Nvidia’s record-shattering quarterly results — a meeting that was later leaked to Business Insider — Huang was reportedly heard urging teams to embrace AI more aggressively, while also reassuring employees that the technology won’t take their jobs.

According to the recording, Huang was surprised to learn that some managers were advising their teams to limit AI usage. His reaction was blunt:

“My understanding is Nvidia has some managers who are telling their people to use less AI. Are you insane?”
“I want every task that is possible to be automated with artificial intelligence to be automated with artificial intelligence. I promise you; you will have work to do.”

Big Tech is pushing AI — hard

Nvidia isn’t alone. Tech giants across the industry are mandating internal AI use:

  • Meta and Microsoft now expect employees to use AI tools as part of their workflow and performance evaluations.
  • Google has instructed engineers to write code with AI support.
  • Amazon employees are lobbying for widespread adoption of the AI coding tool Cursor.

The message across Big Tech is clear: AI fluency isn’t optional.

But anxieties about job loss remain

As AI adoption accelerates, fears about human job displacement are rising just as fast. Several top executives and researchers have issued warnings:

  • Ford CEO Jim Farley says AI could eliminate half of white-collar jobs in the U.S.
  • Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei predicts AI could drive 20% unemployment in the next five years.
  • A study by MIT and Oak Ridge National Laboratory estimates 11.7% of workers face a realistic risk of being replaced by AI.

Huang: AI won’t replace you — and Nvidia is still hiring

Despite these concerns, Huang reportedly told employees their roles at Nvidia are not at risk. The company continues to grow rapidly, adding more than 6,000 new hires in its last fiscal year — and Huang says they may need another 10,000 people as demand for AI hardware explodes.

For Nvidia, encouraging employees to lean into AI isn’t just philosophical — it’s strategic. AI transformed the company from a gaming GPU manufacturer into the world’s first $5 trillion market-cap business.

To Huang, AI is a force multiplier, not a replacement:A tool that boosts productivity — not something meant to eliminate human contributions.
