Google is advancing artificial intelligence that autonomously operates web browsers, aiming to simplify activities like research and online shopping, according to The Information. Dubbed Project Jarvis, the technology is expected to be demonstrated as soon as December alongside Google’s upcoming Gemini large language model.
Similarly, Microsoft-supported OpenAI has pursued autonomous web browsing for research with its “CUA” (computer-using agent). Meanwhile, Google and Anthropic are developing AI that could engage directly with browsers or computers.
Google hasn’t commented yet on the report.
