Google’s AI chatbot for your Gmail inbox is rolling out on Android

Google has recently expanded its Gemini AI chatbot capabilities, allowing you to ask questions about your Gmail inbox on the web, and now this functionality is being introduced on mobile devices. According to the company, the Gmail Q&A feature is beginning to roll out on Android, with iOS support expected to follow shortly.

With Gmail Q&A, you can use Gemini to help you with tasks such as locating specific details in your emails, displaying unread messages, viewing emails from a particular sender, or summarizing emails on a certain topic, as outlined in a Google blog post. This feature was initially previewed at Google’s I/O conference earlier this year.

Gmail Q&A offers a convenient way to navigate through your emails or retrieve information that might be deeply buried in your inbox. However, it’s important to note that this feature isn’t accessible to everyone; you’ll need to be subscribed to Google One AI Premium or be on a Google Workspace plan that includes the Gemini Business, Enterprise, Education, or Education Premium add-ons.

As with any generative AI tools, it’s advisable to verify that Gemini doesn’t generate incorrect information.

The rollout of Gmail Q&A began on Thursday, and Google indicates that it may take up to 15 days before the feature is available to all users.
