Microsoft Unveils Quantum Chip, Predicts Breakthrough Is ‘Years, Not Decades’ Away

Microsoft has announced a major advancement in quantum computing with the unveiling of its new Majorana 1 chip, asserting that practical quantum computers are closer than ever—measured in years rather than decades. This bold prediction places Microsoft alongside Google and IBM, who have also suggested that a transformative shift in computing could arrive much sooner than previously thought.

Quantum computing has long been seen as a revolutionary leap in technology, promising to solve complex problems that would take classical computers millions of years to process.
